On behalf of my family and I, I would like to let you know what a wonderful experience our trip was yesterday. The captain Brian and hostess were an absolute delight and so accommodating to our needs. They went out of their way to make the journey for our mom everything we wanted it to be. My family and I had the most amazing experience on your boat this past Friday evening. I will recommend your boat tours to all of my friends.

My father passed away in El Paso, TX this year. My parents lived there most of their lives, but used to visit San Diego quite often. My father’s brother lived here for many years and then I moved here almost 10 years ago. They always had a very strong connection to this beautiful place we live.

The crew were extremely patient and helpful getting my mother on the boat, since she must use a walker. We left the dock at 4pm and soon after, a dolphin joined us for at least 30 minutes. This beautiful creature was riding along side the boat, frolicking and showing off for us. It was the most wonderful thing to experience. We all thought it might have been the spirit of my father. When we found a place to stop the boat, some of us said some words about our father and then we placed the ashes in the water. The rose petals were an incredible touch and looked beautiful with the ashes on the top of the water. Patrick - Aug/2011

 

I wanted to thank you for making the scattering of my mother's ashes such a peaceful and dignified experience. While I had initially had concerns about it, you all did a wonderful job of making our family feel comfortable. We all felt that you handled honoring our wishes and privacy with respect and care. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the dignified and attentive service rendered at our burial-at-sea ceremony. The interactions with staff were informative and pleasant from the very first contact. Our hostess and captain were very personable and it was clear that their main goal was to make our plans the most important aspect of the charter. Words can not describe the experience that I had on your yacht yesterday. I have been on other whale watching trips maybe see a whale maybe not, but this time we had an entire yacht to ourselves.  We were near the end of the season, so I wasn't expecting to see anything.  Our captain was extremely knowledgeable.   We hung out watching 4 - 5 whales, spout, fluke, breach and roll in the kelp.  On the way out and way back we had 80 - 100 dolphins playing in the wake of our boat.  Jumping and trying to out run us.  That was an experience by itself.  Then on top of it we saw 80 plus sea lions and egrets, herons, night hawks, pelicans, and corormats.  Wow! Our family was met by the Capitan and hostess just outside the dock. They were genuinely friendly, and wanted to make the experience as positive as possible. During the ride out the Captain told us a little bit about the history of the surrounding the area. Once we spread my father's ashes we did not feel rushed or that we were on the clock, we headed back once we were ready.

The Captain and hostess spoke to us like we old friends, they were a very pleasant and caring crew. I would recommend this experience and SDBT to anyone who is looking to spread the ashes of a loved one at sea. Wendell/April 2011
